EMS Physio supply new Ultrasound kit for football club

EMS Physio Football ClubEMS Physio visited a football club recently and delivered their new Ultrasound Machine

Although the season has only just finished, Hednesford fans are already thinking about the next campaign, and they want their players to be as fit as possible.

As recommended by club physio Gavin Blackwell, the supporters, through the Hednesford Town Supporters Association (HTFCSA) Pitmen Prize Draw, have funded the purchase of a state-of-the-art ultrasound machine.

As used by top Premier League teams, including Aston Villa, Gavin took delivery this week of a Primo Therasonic 460, manufactured in the UK and supplied by EMS Physio Ltd of Wantage in South Oxfordshire. This machine replaces the club’s earlier version from 1990!

Gavin, a member of the Football Medical Association, has been the physio for the Pitmen for the last six years.

“It’s programmed to deal with a variety of injuries including ankle ligament, muscle strain, tendons and any soft tissue damage,” commented Gav. “Obviously we don’t have the big medical budgets that the professional clubs have. However it is important that the players at our level get the best possible care we can offer when they are injured. I’d like to thank supporters for helping to purchase this machine.”

Ben Bailey was the first to use the machine. Ben (24) has been with the Pitmen since the age of 16 and has made over 300 appearances for the club.

“This will benefit a lot of players week in and week out,” said Ben. “This will help the little niggles, knocks and dead legs which players get all the time.”

The machine will be on show to supporters, when they all meet the players for the Presentation Evening tonight Friday 8th May at 7.30pm at Keys Park.
